International Fireworks Competition Lights Up Qidong Coast
A spectacular night unfolded on August 2nd at the Bihai Yinsha Scenic Area in Qidong's Yuantuojiao Tourist Resort. The Yangtze River Delta (Qidong) International Maritime Fireworks Competition brought together top teams from six countries—Italy, Russia, Brazil, Australia, France, and Thailand—each showcasing their unique cultural flair through dazzling pyrotechnic displays.

Kicking off at 7:30 PM, the event wowed a crowd of 30,000 spectators. Among them was local resident Mr. Shi, who shared, "I booked tickets early through a WeChat mini-program and brought my parents here by 2 PM to wait for this hometown spectacle."
The night featured standout performances: Italy'sDance of the Gods painted the sky with vibrant floral bursts; Russia'sRussian Rhapsody created floating musical notes of light; Brazil'sFootball Kingdom delighted with bright, playful shapes celebrating their national sport.
Yan Songhua, senior engineer and president of Liuyang Fireworks Association, praised the event as "the largest and most influential international fireworks competition." He noted, "Setting it at sea allows for grander, more imposing displays than land-based shows. These six teams bring rich experience and innovative designs that blend cultural elements beautifully."

As fireworks continued to burst like stars across the sky, spectators captured the magic with cameras and phones. With a total investment of nearly 30 million yuan, this first-ever world-class event in Qidong combined fireworks competitions, live performances, and electronic music parties—all against the scenic backdrop of Bihai Yinsha—creating a truly "flowers blooming on the sea" wonder.
Hosting such a brilliant event highlights Qidong's vitality. Each sparkling firework seemed to wish this coastal city a bright future as a great place to live, work, and visit.
