The Capital of Fireworks – Liuyang, China
Fireworks symbolize happiness and peace in Chinese civilization, embodying people's yearning for a better life. Among them, Liuyang, a city with unique charm, has rightfully earned the title of the "Capital of Fireworks."
Liuyang is one of the four major fireworks production areas in China. It has established a complete industrial chain integrating production, operation, research and development, and logistics, firmly positioning itself as the world's largest production and trading base for fireworks and firecrackers. Its market influence is remarkable, accounting for nearly 60% of the domestic market share and about 70% of China's total exports. The products are sold to more than 100 countries and regions across the Americas, Europe, Southeast Asia, and beyond, lighting up the skies of over 150 countries with Liuyang's spectacular fireworks displays.

Liuyang fireworks boast a profound history that dates back to the Tang Dynasty, spanning over 1,300 years of inheritance and development. From the meticulous manual twisting and filling by craftsmen in the past to the deep integration of traditional techniques with intelligent production equipment and precise formulation systems today, Liuyang not only preserves the essence of craftsmanship but also enhances production efficiency and product quality. The fireworks here come in a rich variety, including thirteen major categories such as spray flowers, spinners, and aerial shells, with over 3,000 different varieties. Whether it's the fun handheld fireworks in children's hands during festivals or the stunning large-scale fireworks shows at the Liuyang International Fireworks Festival, they all offer an unparalleled visual feast.
The unique subtropical monsoon humid climate in Liuyang endows the region with flexible paper and high-quality gunpowder materials, while the surrounding mountainous terrain forms a natural safety barrier, creating ideal conditions for fireworks production. In 2006, the craftsmanship of Liuyang fireworks was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists. Today, as a specialty of Liuyang, Hunan Province, and a China Geographical Indication product, Liuyang fireworks have become a world-renowned "Cultural Calling Card of China," continuously dazzling the world on international stages, such as the New Year's Eve fireworks display in Sydney and the French National Day celebrations.
